HOME

It has been an amazing 6 weeks. it.s gone so quickly. I cannot believe i have been home now for 4 weeks. really? wow

I have loved every second of travelling, it always brings me back to myself, leaving all the stress and shit from uni and last year behind. Now its back to reality, home cooking big double bed, warm house and my baby beetle. oh yeah and maybe work...we'll see about that one.

Georgina Lamden I LOVE YOU. you have been amazing this whole trip and would drop everything to go away with you again. We are always thinking the same thing and always on the same level. If only we could have got more cucumber throughout...
south america?? or Inter-railing?? next conquest. YESSH PLEASE.

PACKING TO GO HOME

Yes i am the same size of my ruck sack.
Yes i did get everything in, with a massive struggle.
It was literally bursting at the zips, had to out the waterproof over it keep it all safe, was very worried, but it all got home safely.

Singapore is one of my favourite places in the world and would go back there in a heartbeat.

RAFFLES

Home of the Singapore Sling.

On our last night in Singapore, we were meant to get the Harbour in time to go on the equivalent London eye wheel, but we were to late cause it took us 45 minutes to get a taxi on orchard road was a joke. So we just went to Raffles hotel and had a SINGAPORE SLING. Georgie's dad told us to go there and get one. It was a really nice bar and the drink itself was all right, would have preferred a Mojito if i am being picky, but it was about the experience.

So we were there for about 10 minutes and ended up getting chatted up by 3 american guys who ranged between the ages of 35-50. It was nice of them at first to chat to us, suggest places to go after, but then it got creepy, they wanted to take us out for the night, then they sent us over more drinks, which they then said were not from them, but we should come and join them at their table to thank the person who got them for us...wellllll we did say thank you of course, but made a quick escape. We needed to pack our bags which for me was going to take a while.

So we walked back to Little India.

Start the day with a starbucks...

WELCOME TO SINGAPORE

FINALLY we have arrived in Singapore. Could not be happier, cleaner and no more silk liner. We have hot water, a plasma TV , fridge and a proper toilet. This is amazing.

We've got 3 days and 3 days of back to back shopping. I cannot wait to see that bank balance shrink..woooohoo. We are staying in Little India, very central to walking to Orchard road, we have Bugis street market literally on our doorstep. I think i just died and went to heaven. I thought Bangkok was amazing for shopping...does it have a street full of shopping malls...no should it YES. Singapore i am moving here one day.

WALK ROUND GILLI TRAWANGAN

We thought we go for a walk along the beach to the turtle sanctuary, then i suggested we walk round the island. Someone remind me why? So our 30 minute stroll turned into a 3 hours dash for shade as the black sand was burning our feet, cause of course we didn't take any flip flops with us. We stopped numerous amounts of times talking to people on bicycles asking how long it takes to get round the island...they said a good 2 hours walking. We were under the impression it took around 45 minutes to an hour max.

So after running for bits of cool shade as we could no longer walk along the beach, we finally met a French couple with two pairs of flip flops and some Jesus sandals and well you can only imagine what happened next. To their surprise we asked if we could borrow the two pairs of flip flops and sandals obviously Phoebe and i got the short straw and were left with the flip flips, at the time not realising how HARD it is to walk in them. Which meant we had to walk backwards...which was SO funny at the start not 30 minutes in...this then continued for about 45 minutes further round the island. All while during this time Olivia was in her room grooming her hair extensions not knowing where we were.

So finally i hailed down a working horse and cart and asked them to take us back to the beach, i sat up front like a jockey and the others on a plank of wood on the back cart. It was a walk i will never forget and memory which will always put a smile on my face. It was defiantly an interesting walk round Gilli.

NIGHT'S OUT

So you go out every other night in Gilli which is exactly what we wanted, cause you can hit it hard, then chill out the next day and then go hard again. The big nights are Monday, Wednesday, Friday then on the weekends you can just got to the bars for drinks or go to the open cinema which we did twice. Once we watched Toy Story 3, got kicked out right before the end cause we didn't want to buy anything. SO annoying. need to go and see it in 3D. Then the second time we got to the cinema nice and early to watch the A-TEAM. which i thought was amazing, I LOVE Bradley Cooper so i enjoyed it.

We met up with some old friends from harrow and some of Georgie's uni's friends. We spent the days with them on the beach, then all went out together. Was a really good crowd of people, what i love about when your travelling everyone is so chilled out and happy, that everyone just has an amazing time and makes the most of everything. Most of the time on our nights out we changed our names, a lot of the time i was Sarah, kitty or molly. Georgie went for the more adventurous, Brenda, sue then Chris went for Damascus....REALLY. why would you chose that, Then again i did say to someone i was from Switzerland, then he asked me where and i said the Netherlands...haha Was on my A GAME.

We have had some really good nights out with everyone, this is what i am going to miss when i go home. Its hot, sunny and great night out.

SNORKELLING

We spent two days snorkelling around the islands. There are three Gilli islands, the other two are really small and its more of a romantic couples place to stay for the night as not a lot happens. So we just went there for lunch on our snorkelling trips.

We saw a lot of turtles, fish and coral. The boat was glass bottomed but we sat at the front so we could get a tan, typical girls of course. It was a half a day trip go at 10 come back at 4 then go back to our room and sleep till dinner. i love our summer. Everything about Gilli is chilled out and relaxed, everything takes a little longer because they have such a relaxed way of life. The boast was very DODGY, at one point we were very close to sliding into the water, i was holding onto the poll of the boat for my life.

The Indonesian guy who we booked our tour named at 'Blondies' for our whole island stay, ended up seeing him everyday shouting blondie down the road to us, was great. You can dive on the islands but unless you have a padi certificate you won't be doing that. There are jet ski's, and banana boats but there a little more expensive so we didn't end up doing that. We spent everyday on the beach sunbathing got up at 10 as the sun goes to the other side of the island at 4...needed a good full day. Georgie and i being freckly and pale took us longer to tan. Even if i have to say our tans were the best they have ever been.
