Now on to my threading plan. Which is a point draft. So every 476 thread has to be threaded through a headle, which is basically equivalent to a needle as such in a more literal term.
So i have started, they are tied into bundles of 16 which is once i have done a point draft as such. Which will help when i making my Twill weaves.
I would also like to thank CLEM our technician for being amazing.
I was on another level of stress on Monday.
Sorry everyone.

So then you start the process of un-tangeling all your threads, so you can wind on your warp.
Its something which you have to be firm and attentive too.
Stay calm and don't think about how tangled it gets, I had good karma that day because it went well.
Then you take all your ties out put the sticks through your crosses, which keep the two threads lifting so you can trap the vertical weft threads in between.

The start of setting up a loom.
After taking it off the warping wheel.
Now through to the loom to beginning, counting your threads in to quarter inches which is 7 threads for me through each raddle whole. LONG.

Stunningly Elegant.

Friday.
Ill spent the day in bed sleeping it was amazing.
Now looking at the photos from Georgie's 21st which the photographer took. amazing. Its making me miss my friends & all the stupid things which have gone on recently. What's said is done and you can't go back so you should just move forward. No point in regretting. Change is a good thing in everyone and something we should all embrace. I will always be there whether its the person you want me to be or not. It's me.

Anyway after a really long couple of days in the studio from 9.30-6.
I am now fully rested and ready for Monday. To finish threading my Loom.
Yes Please.

I would love an aviator jacket.
Just not sure which one...
Ideally i would LOVE a Burberry Prorsum Jacket.

The beginning of setting up my loom.
I have 476 threads, which i had to divide into 7 threads to go through each raddle whole.
Was a very back aching process, but also fulfilling once completed.
You need a lot of concentration and patience.
Always go into it with an open mind.
As Clem (the technician) said the angrier your get the worse you're making it.
So after yesterday, i went home slept off my frustration and went in very open minded & calm.

These aren't very good photos, As I broke my SLR and it's currently in repairs.
So i took these on my phone, just to upload my work and constantly remind me of my total inspirational board & project as a whole.
Having a complete wall covered with your work is a good way of always focusing & challenging your ideas, so they don't side track, but it also builds on your collection, and you can see that progression, it also helps to see what works & what doesn't. I haven't put a final colour chart on the wall because its something i am still working on. Using my Hanks of rope to dye up as part of a colour chart.

I went to the art fair on Sunday with Nick.
It was actually quite a nice day, Cold but not raining.
I was in a really weird mood, i am putting it down to what he fed me at lunch.ha Sorry.
But it was a really cool art fair with a lot of 'arty' people.
A lot of different, conceptual, abstract, creative, ideas. All put together in a series of galleries around the world exhibiting work. Was strange in some parts, interesting in others. I don't know how much inspiration I took away for the work, but it was certainly an experience. There was a lot of art work which I can imagine people purchasing to have as a statement art piece in their house. A lot of Fine Art work, than design or textiles, but it good to always explore different forms of art to keep your inspiration and creative mind very broad to ideas.
Inspiration can come from anything.

We then left, went to the pub on marylebone high st exactly what i needed.

I am Absolutely shattered.
Longest day in the studio.
9.30AM - 6.00PM
Started the day with getting all my work ready on the wall and design board presented for made.com.
Then there was a fire alarm. So 20 minutes out to eat my breakfast.
Saw made.com, Went well, then had teaching with Lorna about winding on, setting up our Warps and calculating the length, width, ends per inch and what sort of of warp design i would have.
I am using a point draft.
With a 2/20 mercerised cotton. Natural form & colour. Using my Weft as the pattern created.
Winding my hank round the wheel was possibly one of the most time consuming, aggravating things i have ever done, i forgot how patient you have to be.
Split it into two because it wasn't quite working out on the dodgy spinning wheel.
Finally 6pm I left the weave studio having completed my warp.
WOO HOO
Now off home to sleep.

Progression. Glocalisation.
Photographing bundles of yarns which i have twisted into hanks resembling rope. I used natural yarns, silks, cotton, wools & different yarns with slurps. Then using these bundles i have photogrpahed them together weaving them through each other to show the different colours, texture & pattens lying next to each other. Almost trying to potray the affect of a twill weave, which has a diamond affect.

This is all in preperation for the collaboration of my design concept board.
Due in Monday.
So work. work. work.

An amazing event.
33 men trapped underground for 69 days.
A freak natural accident on earth.
Every single one rescued in 22 hours.
Happiness & relief for those families and friends of the minors.
You could now say they are all small celebrities.
I think its incredible how those minors have all stayed so positive and strong. For the first 17 days not knowing if anyone knew where they were or if they were missing.

Chelsea Design Harbour.
Interior Supply.

I found so many interesting weave patterns and designers. Using Carpets & Rugs as their main focus product. Which is exactly what my passion lies in I have a huge interest in texture, surface textures anything with a texture or feeling.
I have always had a problem ever since i was little where i always had to touch things. I could never walk past a lift without pressing the button, or touching a cushion, sofa, Display. I have an eye for textiles.

This week we have been carrying on with our research, focusing more specifically on an initial colour palette and design concept for our mood board.
Using Skiathos as my main inspiration i have come across a lot of blues, white, greys, red/orange and greys. I want to progress my research by looking further into a weave structure.

No Inspiration to progress.

Creative moment looking through online blogs & magazines.
Really outdoor fresh looking photo.

Skiathos Island,
Greece.

Relaxing, chilled, perfect week to have fun and enjoy my surroundings.
I focused my Glocalisation project on Skiathos.
Which is focusing on a places colour. What colour defines a certain place.
I found a lot of interesting & exciting things while i was there and here are a few things which really grabbed me.
Focusing on the port and the essence of blue, white & terra-cotta.
I looked at a lot of different places, through the old town, Kastro, the hills, Monasteries, Beaches, Villas, Restaurants and generally wandering & driving around the island.
It's a very inspirational place, with vibrant colours, energy and friendly atmosphere.

Ok I am back.
After a wonderful week relaxing in Greece
A week catching up with friends before they go back to uni.
A week doing my university summer project - Glocalisation.
I am finally back onto blogging my random life habits.
So this is Georgie's 21st.
An amazing night, filled with friends, alcohol, dancing, fireworks and fun.
Thank you so much to Maxine & Julian for making it an amazing night for her.
Even though my hair did get set on fire, i still had a brilliant night catching up with old friends.
